You are ONE of 923... ?
That's it boys and girls, that's how many McCoys will be made in this first run. 923... Total. Men's + Women's = 923. 2/3 of the first run have been pre-ordered! If you do the math, only a few more in each size and color combo remain.
The fabric is here, the leather, the zippers (all but the front zip, which has been shipped.) All of it has arrived. I will have what's called a "Top of Production" sample in my hands 1/18 and we should start cutting men's early next week, with women's following shortly thereafter.
Delivery still on track for March for all orders. Thank you for hanging in there. Make sure to follow us on Instagram to get all the mini-updates @tobaccomotorwearco
McCoy Price Goes Up, Feb 1, 2019!
Once we have the McCoy instock the retail price will be almost $200 more. If you know someone who is waiting until the McCoy is in stock, tell them the price is going up and inventory is going fast. So get that pre-order discount while you can! tobaccomotorwear.com
The Hustle Duffel Has Shipped!
The perfect companion bag for your bike, the gym, or the jetway has shipped to Kickstarter backers and website pre-orderers. We now have the duffels in stock and available for immediate delivery.
*If you ordered a McCoy, your duffel will ship with your Jacket! If you ordered a Duffel with a Key Fob, or other small item, it will ship as soon as your entire order is available and in stock as well.
Have you seen our belts?
The way I see it, if you wear pants, you probably wear a belt, and if you wear a belt it probably should be one, girthy strap of full grain cowhide and a bulletproof buckle. Our belts are heirloom quality with just a little burnishing to give it a slightly worn in look right out of the box.
Speaking of the box, check out our custom, Tobacco Motorwear Company, cigar box inspired belt boxes. Would you expect less from us? Use it for your rings, knives, keys and things. Just our way of saying we got your ass covered in all occasions!
Our genuine leather Key Fobs are also in stock, a good reminder to Ride Every Day!
As you can tell, we have been busy. We love what we do and we think it shows in out products. We want you to be proud of anything with our name on it. Stay tuned for more updates as they happen.
Ride Every Day,
Dave

Dear Backsters!
Thank you so much for your patience. Though Kickstarter Projects are notoriously late, it's a sucky part of this process, and I wish I could change it. All I can say is we are working hard to make the McCoy quality, and get it to you quickly.
Due to the complexity of this jacket, all* materials must be present from the beginning. Once production begins we have to go straight through. We can't stop the process in the middle to wait for some undelivered item. (* there might be one or two exceptions to this rule)
Total production, start to finish, once all* materials are on hand, will take 8 - 10 weeks. (Hence our original timelines) We may be able to make partial deliveries as we go. For example segment the order and deliver all the Browns, or all the Mediums, or all the women's as they finish that segment. Doing this may shave a few days off of smaller segments of the total order.
New Delivery Estimation is March. We thank you for your patience. Good things come to those who wait and the McCoy is more than worth the wait.
The Right Factory For the Job
Because we are still waiting for materials, it has given us time to ensure the factory where the McCoy is made is top notch. We have to use a different factory than our Jeans and Riding Shirt factory due to the weight of the canvas and the complexity of the jacket. We had to basically find a leather jacket maker to run production on the McCoy. 3 factories made samples, basically auditioning to get the production run. Sometimes I would think a factory was perfect for us, but their sample would come back lacking.
Now, we finally have thefactory and the production foreman that will do the job the right way. It's a solid team, right here in LA.
Here is the status of most of the materials necessary to start production.
3500 yds waxed canvas in 3 colors - delivery this week
Men's flannel lining - delivery this week
Women's flannel lining - DELIVERED
YKK Sleeve Zippers - DELIVERED
YKK pocket Zippers - DELIVERED
YKK Waterproof vent zippers - Women's Delivered, Men's in production
YKK Front Zippers - On Order, Shipping from Japan soon
Sleeve Lining - DELIVERED
Leather Patches - DELIVERED
D3O armor - In transit
D3O Tags - Delivered
McCoy Custom Label - On Order
Anti-scratch Snaps - DELIVERED
Custom cinch buckles - In transit
Leather for flaps - being sourced
Magnetic collar stay - being sourced
Content/Care Label - being sourced
This may seem like a lot, but we've been able to cross a lot off the list and are looking to begin production in the next couple weeks.
Due to unpreventable delays in the ordering, production of, and delivery of key materials we will not be able to deliver at in January. March is the New Delivery Month.
Hustle Duffle Will Be Delivered in January!
In December I responded to questions about the duffle bag production timeline. Our goal was to send out all jackets and duffles at the same time at the end of January. I also said, if there were further delays for the McCoy, we would fulfill all non-McCoy orders - including duffle bag orders - in January. That remains the plan.
This is only for orders that did NOT include a McCoy. If you ordered a duffle with your McCoy your package will be delivered all together. Estimated delivery set for March.
Thank you for understanding.
Despite the delays you have been awesome, patient and understanding and that makes our job easier. I know that you want your McCoy, I want to give it to you just as much. I'm not trying to make a good jacket, I want it to be the best jacket you own. I want to make you say, WOW! Even when you know exactly what you are getting, I want it to surprise you. THAT IS WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG! Thanks again for your support.
Love You All, Happy New Year!

McCoy Update and Holiday Wishes

Hey Tobacksters, (Note the change? Is it a thing?)
I wanted to come on and let you know what is going on with the McCoy. All is well and production moves forward. There isn't any single major development to share so I apologize for the lack of "news" in this "Newsletter," I hate being dull.
I will say, production is full of decisions. Often, I find myself deciding between what's quality and what's easy, or, attention to detail, vs speedy delivery. There isn't necessarily a right or a wrong answer to some of these questions, but the decisions have to be made.
EXAMPLE: In the Kickstarter I promised YKK zippers on the McCoy, now you may be asking WTF is YKK. Well, YKK is a top notch Japanese zipper manufacturer, known for making high quality, long lasting zippers. Check the back of the slider on your nicest zippered -thing- and I bet it's YKK.
The point is, when it comes to a zipper on your jacket, you don't want a bad one. So I set out to get YKK Zippers for the McCoy. Come to find out, the YKK zippers I had used in the prototypes were left-overs from another high-end jacket brand. For me to use the same level product, they would be more expensive and have to be special ordered for Tobacco. ALL THIS FOR A ZIPPER! So, I'm faced with the decision, save a little money and speed up delivery, OR spend a little more, order the specialty zippers from Japan and wait for them to come in?
I don't know what you would do. I wish I could get the best quality and not have to wait, but when that can't happen, I usually error on the side of quality and craftsmanship.
I apologize that your McCoy order won't be ready for Christmas, I really wanted it to be. But we are moving as fast as we can, while not sacrificing our standards.
That is my Holiday message, I guess. My gift is the knowledge that we are hustling up a great jacket and we won't be skimping on the little things...
That and this McCoy-Backer-Only, discount code to pick up anything else you've been eyeing on TobaccoMotorwear.com
We are so grateful for your business, patience and friendship, we wish you a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
Cheers!
Dave
P.S. You guys are amazing, we haven't received any angry or impatient emails demanding impossible deadlines or whatever. It's awesome to be able to make good shit for great people.
State of the McCoy

Greetings Tobackers,
Got some quick updates for you. We have been hustling to get the McCoys ready as fast as we possibly can. Watch the video, sorry, it's a little long... or just skip it and read on.
Now...
When will I get my ****ing McCoy?!
We want to be as upfront about this process and we appreciate your business and patience. We want to be sure the McCoy Jacket is everything you would expect from a Tobacco Motorwear jacket.
I want to say, THIS IS ON US, this is our 3rd super successful Kickstarter. Each time we give a estimated deadline and goal and each time we blow our own goal away and that causes delays in our delivery timeline. We are sorry about the delay and in the future we will offer a range with best and worse-case scenarios.
This is why we are running behind schedule...
1. Due to the success of the kickstarter we have naturally had to increase the size of the order substantially from what we expected. This creates bottlenecks in certain places along the production schedule.
2. We have had to get more materials than expected. Many of our raw materials have to be produced for us, instead of buying existing materials. For example, there wasn't enough waxed canvas in LA to do all the ordered McCoys, so we have had to order a run of black and brown canvas made especially for us.
3. Changes in the McCoy Pattern. After the Kickstarter a number of LA based riders got to see and try out prototypes of the McCoy. Their feedback led to a few small tweaks in the fit and functionality of the jacket. When you change the jacket pattern you have to have the changes done first on paper, then digitally and then you must make a new sample. This process adds time but in the end you get a better jacket.
The delivery date listed on Kickstarter anticipated a November delivery, that was based on an order of less than half of what we are currently undertaking. This is one of those "good problems to have" for Tobacco Motorwear, but something we don't take lightly. We don't like missing our delivery dates any more than you do, but we would rather do the McCoy right, than cut corners to do it fast.
You can trust us. Again, if you know us, if you have backed us in the past, you know we deliver. If this is your first time supporting a Tobacco project, or even your first time on Kickstarter, you might be concerned. You have heard horror stories of projects delaying delivery for years or never delivering at all. THAT IS NOT US! The ball is rolling, your money has only been used to place deposits for materials and labor. ZERO has gone to Andrew or myself or any expense not directly related to the production of the McCoy.
As of now we hope to deliver in mid to late January. We will be updating every 2 weeks between now and then and will get you more specific timelines as they are available.
Thank you for your support. The fact that you put your faith in us and our company means the world to us. You are going to LOVE your McCoy and it will be well worth the wait.
Sincerely,
Dave
P.S. Thank you to all of those who have reached out offering your enthusiasm and encouragement. Never hesitate to do so, we love hearing from you.
P.S.S. The following is an update I shot about the final prototype. See if you can spot the upgrades!!!
Production Update | Pre-Order Price going up... a little.

Tobackers, One and All,
Exciting stuff is afoot here in sunny LA. While many of you are enjoying the last few weeks of riding weather as fall settles in. We are cooped up, inside, making sure we have all the materials to do our largest production run to date.
Just as a little glimpse into what that looks like, we must source...
Waxed Canvas, 3 colors, (black and brown will be custom milled for us!)
D3O armor, almost 1000 set for the order
Flannel lining, 2 color-ways
Sleeve Lining
Mesh for armor pockets
Anti-Scratch Buttons
Cinch Buckles (Custom)
Corduroy for the collar
Lambskin
Magnets
Zippers, custom length, 7 per jacket, 4 distinct types
AND MORE!
Once the raw materials are ordered, we will be limited in what we can offer as a pre-order. For example, if we only order enough Slate Canvas for 100 women's jackets, we can't sell 101 Slate Jackets. If we only order 90 Medium armor sets, we couldn't take 91 medium jacket orders.
Because of that...
Pre-order price will increase to $497.00 as of 10/11/18!!!
We know, most of you have already ordered a McCoy through Kickstarter, but we wanted to give you fair warning. The new price is NOT the final retail price, and pre-orders will still be taken attobaccomotorwear.com, but due to the constraints on our materials and production schedule we need to start ramping up toward the eventual retail price of $639.
Be sure to tell your friends about the McCoy so they can get the same low price you paid. Unless it's a friend who is always calling you a nickname you hate, or made a pass at your girlfriend... still tell him about the McCoy, just wait until after the price goes up.
Ride Every Day,
Dave
P.S. We are doing all we can to produce your Jackets in a timely and quality manner. As you would expect from us. Thank you for your generosity and patience.
